WHEN Lancashire County Council carry out their proposals to close many of the homes for the elderly, the shock of moving will kill some of the residents.
Every day we read of billions of pounds being spent on overseas aid, millions being spent on asylum seekers and providing them with accommodation.
The county should be pressing the government to pay for the alterations to the residential homes they own to bring them up to the required standard.
For elderly British people who fought and served this country in the last war to be treated as "baggage" and moved on is an absolute disgrace.
Many elderly people still living in their own homes are furious about this, but because of their age or infirmity are unable to go around with petitions or organise or attend meetings.
I appeal to younger people with elderly parents to take up this fight on their behalf.
