A PLAN to convert and enlarge a garage to form a double garage, store, workshop and display area at Long Hill Farm, Foulridge, could be approved by Colne and District Committee tonight.
The applicant intends to use the store, workshop and display area to store, wax, polish and make small repairs to antique furniture which he collects. He says it would not be for retail use.
Planning officers believe the visual impact of the building would be minimal and are recommending that councillors approve the plan.
A separate application for Long Hill Farm will also be considered tonight. The plan is to create a new access road around the southern boundaries of the farm buildings, in Hill Top, which would lead to an existing stable building.
This would enable vehicles to get to the large stable without having to go through the farm and would also provide access to a barn conversion which was approved by councillors in September last year.
Council planning officers said that the access road would make a prominent intrusion in to the surrounding fields and that the stable building was already adequately accessed through Long Hill Farm.
They recommended that councillors should refuse the plans on these grounds.
