LAST week's debacle at Northop Hall served as a timely reminder to Preston that nothing can be taken for granted in their quest for promotion.
And they clearly took heed of this warning as they returned to winning ways with a convincing performance over third placed Bolton.
Not even a late comeback with two goals in as many minutes could prevent Preston claiming another three points to maintain their four point lead over Bowdon in what is becoming essentially a two horse race.
Preston's victory was their fourteenth win of the season and has set up what should be a fascinating title chase.
But they face a tough away match at Morecambe on Saturday who will be desperate for points as they are currently only just above the relegation zone.
Preston know, though, that if they can all their games in February then will take the title and promotion to Northern Premier One.
If they don't they could be set for a humdinger final match decider against Bowden to decide who goes up.
