VICTIM Support Lancashire, which has a branch in Preston, has gained the prestigious Investor in People award after only 18 months in existence.
The caring charity, which has an office in Chapel Street, Preston, gained the quality award after demonstrating its commitment to staff development in 12 key areas.
It was assessed over several days and face-to-face interviews were carried out with staff, volunteers, trustees and other members of the organisation. The award was presented by Brian Turner, chairman of the charity, at a recent volunteers' seminar.
Victim Support Lancashire is now appealing for more volunteers. Area manager Julie Young said: "We'd be delighted to hear from anyone who is interested in becoming a volunteer."
