THE 129th Anniversary Organ Concert, which celebrates the opening of the famous instrument at St Peter's Church, Hindley, will be given on Sunday at 2.30pm.
The recitalist will be Brian Smith, Bolton's borough organist for the past 15 years.
The famous organ, one of only four such examples in the UK built by Edmund Schulze of Germany in 1873, was opened by the doyen of the Victorian concert organists, Mr W T Best of St George's Hall, Liverpool. Admission is free, with refreshments available after the concert.
