A SERIES of special events have been unveiled at which people can find out more about Wigan Council's new township programme.
The whole of the borough has been divided into nine "township" areas -- Orrell, Billinge and Winstanley; Leigh; Atherton; Wigan; Tyldesley and Astley; Bryn and Ashton; Hindley, Platt Bridge, Abram and Bickershaw; Standish, Aspull and Shevington; and Golborne and Lowton -- which roughly follow the boundaries of the old urban districts.
Over the next few weeks, new township managers will be holding a meeting in a local supermarket or shopping centre and they are keen to meet residents who want to get involved in planning the future of their community.
