TOWN centres manager Laurie Barton is leaving for pastures new.
Laurie has been co-ordinator for Leigh and Golborne for the past 18 months, but has decided it is time to move on. She will take over next month as town centre manager at The Millgate Shopping Centre in Bury.
She sees the move as a progression in her career, but says she will be sorry to leave Leigh: "I've had some good times here, the Christmas light switch-ons have been a success and events such as the donkey rides were fun. I will miss the people of Leigh, they are all so friendly."
