MOTORISTS are being warned to watch where they park as police launch their latest crackdown to fight town centre congestion in Accrington.
Fixed fine penalties of £30 will be imposed on all motorists who contravene parking restrictions especially around Bridge Street, Cross Street and Dutton Street.
Sergeant Mark Potter of Accrington Police said: "Many motorists are parking on yellow lines and causing quite serious obstructions."
The crackdown comes following several complaints and in preparation for regeneration and underground pipe work expected to add to traffic problems.
Police are appealing to people to use public transport or avoid parking in any restricted areas.
