REGENERATION has become the "buzz" word for Burnley Council, with regard to distribution of funds in specific areas of the town.
What we need to know is: when do we establish that these areas are no longer regeneration areas and that sufficient funds have been ploughed into them?
Or do we allow these properties to keep being wrecked, with more money being allocated for regeneration to the same areas?
Despite the millions of pounds which have been spent on these deprived areas they are still dirty and disgusting blots on Burnley's landscape, with burnt-out, boarded- up properties, filthy back yards and dumped household rubbish.
How long are other areas of Burnley going to be neglected before they become classified as regeneration areas? Should not people who live in the older type of house, but who have struggled to maintain their properties also be entitled to help with improving their homes?
How can the councillors and officers of Burnley justify the decisions they make to keep ploughing money time and time again into these same areas without us being able to see any improvement? When are the funds going to be distributed fairly and evenly throughout Burnley?
