AN inquest has been opened into the death of a Prestwich man found hanging from a stair bannister at his home.
Unemployed hairdresser Alan Cyril Lavenberg (50) was found hanging at his home in Lilac Grove on February 8.
The hearing was told two letters found at the premises gave an indication of an intention to self-harm and it was known the deceased had a history of depression.
Mr Lavenberg was under the care of a community mental health nurse, Bury deputy district coroner Matthew Cox was told.
Police investigations had ruled out any third party involvement or criminally suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
Mr Cox adjourned the hearing pending the submission of further medical reports.
