RAMSBOTTOM manager Mike Kelly has been forced to put seven days on midfielder Gary Lewis.
The Colwyn Bay player had told the Welsh UniBond side that he wanted to leave and they had agreed to release him. But at the 11th hour the club forced the Rams to go through the proper channels.
The club can sign him on Monday. Kelly has also put seven days on Congleton striker Carl Lomax, who is from Bury.
Ramsbottom face Glossop at home tomorrow if the pitch, which was deemed unplayable for last night's Marsden Trophy quarter final game against Clitheroe, passes an inspection. But the boss is not expecting a game for the purists.
"The pitch will be like a ploughed field. It doesn't suit us because our players like to play football but they need to be able to adapt to different conditions.
"It is alright going to St Helens and places like that where you can play good football but you can't on our pitch. I will have that in mind when I pick the team."
Russell Brierley, Danny Goodall and Brad Franks all return after suspension and Mike Langhorn, who didn't turn up for last week's match, could also play.
"We owe Glossop one because they beat us 4-3 before Christmas."
