A NEW £1million town centre pub will create 35 jobs when it opens for business later this month.
The project, for pub operator Wetherspoon, has transformed a former office block in Manchester Road, Burnley, over the past four months.
The pub, called The Brun Lea, will create 35 full and part-time jobs when it opens later this month.
Wetherspoon has spent the past four months and £1million building the Brun Lea in a former office block in Manchester Road.
The first pints will be pulled and first meals served on Monday, February 25.
As with a number of houses run by Wetherspoon, The Brun Lea will be completely music free, with the operators imposing a second a ban on pool tables.
About one-third of the customer area will be designated as non-smoking while the pub will also be accessible by wheelchair and have a specially adapted toilet for customers with disabilities.
Manager Daniel Lambert has strong links with the town and has moved from another Wetherspoon pub, the Sir Richard Owen, in Lancaster, to take the helm.
Daniel, 27, said: "I am really looking forward to working in Burnley.
"My mother was brought up here before moving to Lancaster and I still have family who live in the Colne and Nelson areas. I have an affinity with the area."
He has been with the company for two years. Before that he used to run The Alex nightclub in Lancaster.
He added: "I have just got my first beer deliveries so everything is gearing up for the opening on the 25th." The Brun Lea will specialise in cask-conditioned beers serving up to seven different ales at all times including a range from micro brewers across the UK.
Paintings, photos and text relating to the history and characters of the area will be displayed in the pub.
It will be open all day including Sunday and serve a full menu at all times.
Daniel added: "I'm looking forward to welcoming people into the pub and that the Brun lea will prove popular and be a good addition for Burnley."
