COUNCILLORS decided to defer their decision over whether to allow planning permission for a two-storey side extension in Cuerden Street, in Colne, until they had sited the visit.
The application was for an extension to the side of number 13, which would create a garage on the ground floor and two bedrooms and a bathroom above it.
This would increase the number of bedrooms in the house from three to four and increase the size of the smaller bedrooms.
Two letters of objection to the plans were submitted to the council from residents who complained that the development would lead to extra traffic and to an encroachment of privacy for the residents in Primet Heights -- onto which the extension backs.
There was also concern over whether the garage would be used for a vehicle repair business.
Council planners said that the applicants had confirmed the garage would be for private use and that they believed the distance between the extension and the houses in Primet Heights was acceptable.
