ROVERS boss Graeme Souness has called on the use of video evidence to help avoid a repeat of what happened at the Riverside on Saturday.
Souness had to be restrained at the end of the match as he tried to question referee Graham Barber over the 72nd minute dismissal of Lucas Neill for what the ref saw as a foul on last man Robbie Stockdale.
And the Ewood chief thinks someone helping the referee in the stands would stop similar scenes.
"Perhaps we should have the use of video evidence, immediately after it happened, someone sat in the stand with a video.
"We have the technology and if there are guidelines in place, decisions like sendings off could only take ten or 15 seconds to be decided.
"Perhaps that is the way forward."
Rovers will be appealing against the dismissal which could see the influential Neill miss three Premiership games - something Rovers will be desperate to avoid as they battle to preserve their top-flight status.
