SHAKERS boss Andy Preece was left in philosophical mood after the 2-2 draw against bottom club Cambridge but reckoned his side deserved credit for staying positive following the sending off of goalkeeper Paddy Kenny.
"It was a real up and down game for us," he said. "I told the players before the match that they should have no fear of losing and keep positive and for the first 15 minutes I could not have been more happy.
"But as soon as we went a goal up we started to lack belief and Cambridge came back into the match.
"We lost our way a little and were looking to go in a goal up at half time but they hit back with the equaliser.
"The only complaint I have against the penalty decision was that we had men behind the ball when Paddy brought their player down, maybe it should only have been a yellow card and a penalty.
"But credit to Glyn Garner he did superbly with the save. I told him that Wanless would put it to that side but he hit it right in the corner so it was a great stop.
"At 1-1 and down to ten men I'd have been happy with a point but when you go in front again we should hold on for a win, but we went to sleep for the equaliser."
