DRESSED in their usual stage attire of surgical masks and gowns Clinic take to the stage, and they are not planning on hanging around.
They belt out their very own cross between Punk and Krautrock without pausing for breath. The old favourites are still in there, the excellent Return of Evil Bill and Second Line.
These are interspersed with songs from the band's upcoming album Walk With Thee. All this is done with total aggression.
Combine that with the small and packed out conditions of the Roadhouse and it feels like there is a real connection between band and fans.
This is the band, remember, that even managed to confuse Radiohead fans last year during their support slot.
By the time the set ends just over half an hour and one song encore later Clinic have assured everyone that the new album will be every bit as good as the last, and probably just as confusing for your average chart listener.
Which is just how we like it.
CLINIC, Manchester Roadhouse
