NOT many Fusiliers have their own personal trainer, security escort and valet.
Yet, Fusilier Bobby is a special foot soldier, four-footed in fact, who has travelled the world in first class comfort without firing a shot but as an antlered figurehead of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.
The Indian Black Buck is the official Regimental Mascot and he has just made his first visit to Bury to give his support to a long term recruitment drive.
Bobby, who currently carries the rank of a Fusilier, joined members of the 2nd Battalion, the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, who were taking part in Operation Shilling.
Recruits Sergeant Lee Snelling said: "Bury and other towns in Lancashire are major recruiting areas for the regiment and the Fusiliers are very proud of that association."
Bobby, aged three, was given his own barracks room and grazing field at the Holcombe Army Training Camp during his stay.
