BURNLEY Council is being asked to pay £1,000 towards the cost of the Queen's Golden Jubilee East Lancashire celebrations.
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will be in the county on August 5 with a reception to which the Mayor and Mayoress of each district council will be invited.
Each Mayor will be asked to nominate a number of people from their borough to also attend.
Planning is also under way for a Lancashire Service of Thanksgiving to be held at Blackburn Cathedral on Sunday, June 2.
All civic representatives together with other organisations and the public will also be invited to attend that service.
Burnley council executive will be told tonight that Lancashire County Council and the Duchy of Lancashire had agreed to meet part of the costs but were looking to the districts to also contribute.
The councillors will be asked to agree to Burnley paying £1,000 towards the costs of the events.
