THERE are few more experienced campaigners in the first division than Stuart McCall and Kevin Ball and the pair will come face to face in midfield tonight.
Both men will be 38 years old and between them they have played well over 1,000 league matches.
Former Scotland international McCall is five months older than Ball and he looks set to finish his playing career at the club where it all started for him 20 seasons ago.
He has now made nearly 400 league appearances for the Bantams as well as serving Everton and Rangers with distinction.
The Scot is quite simply a legend at Valley Parade and on more than one occasion his name has been in the frame as a possible player manager at the club.
But he is clearly not ready to hang up his boots yet.
The same can be said for Ball who has been the Clarets skipper since taking over the armband from Ian Cox ahead of the game at Watford earlier this month.
It took Ball longer to break into the first team at Portsmouth but he went on to become a key player first at Fratton Park and then for Sunderland where he is still a hero having played 339 games for the club.
McCall and Ball have both enjoyed promotion from the first division in the past but only the Burnley man can dream of another success this season.
But it would be a brave man who would bet against McCall having another campaign next time around.
