THE victim of an attack outside a Blackburn nightclub was arrested when he threatened to rip his assailant's head off as the police were executing an arrest.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Donald Mitchell Devlin lunged at the other man and tried to punch him as he was being arrested.
Devlin, 40, of Dalton Close, Blackburn, was given a conditional discharge for six months and ordered to pay £30 costs after admitting threating behaviour.
Stephen Parker, defending, said Devlin had been out celebrating his daughter's engagement and as they were leaving the club she had been punched by the other man.
"He went to speak to the other man and, for his trouble was punched as well, an incident witnessed by the police officers," said Mr Parker.
