CLITHEROE and district motor club is holding a series of training nights for rally navigators.
Organised by leading road rally competitor Simon Daly, the scheme is aimed at helping novices to learn all aspects of the discipline.
"The idea is to start with the basics of rally navigation, such as reading maps and timing, before going on to advance subjects like pacenotes," explained Simon.
"Nicky Grist, who co-drives for Colin McRae in the World Rally Championship, has endorsed our scheme, and we are hoping to attract not just new members but anyone who is interested in honing the navigational skills.
"We have set up an inter-active display, using a Playstation rally game on a big screen, which will allow us to teach people how to make pacenotes and then read them back as if they were is a real rally car."
First meeting is next Tuesday, February 26 at Waddington Social Club, near Clitheroe.
