HAVING recently become a parent, I was wondering where in Leigh is it possible to breast feed your baby (not me obviously, my wife).

Very few, if any of the cafe's have this facility and I don't think there is anywhere in the Spinning Gate centre. I realise we could use expressed milk, which is fine, but it is not always possible to have this to hand as babies can be so demanding.

Believe me, we are in no way exhibitionists and I understand perfectly that some people feel uneasy about it. I must admit that I feel exactly the same and to be honest would still feel uncomfortable if someone I didn't know (or did know for that matter) suddenly started to feed in public.

It doesn't so much as confine you to the house all the time but I do think it would be handy if there were facilities for doing this somewhere. We all know babies can want feeding on an 'as and when' basis.
