I CANNOT believe that I am the only person in the country to have noticed the following problem.
Almost every city or town we visit in the UK we come across an Oxfam shop. These shops do a good job raising money for good causes. Whenever there is a problem throughout the world Oxfam rise to the cause. Examples being Afganistan, the Congo, The Balkans and almost every year floods in Bangladesh or Pakistan.
I was out in Africa a few years ago when they were working out there and I spoke to some of their staff. There was no doubt they were doing a good job.
For some years now we have had people begging on the streets. These people always seem to have cards which say "homeless and hungry". Last year we had floods throughout the country and at the time of writing we have large areas of the UK under water causing distress to a lot of people. The question I have to ask is where is Oxfam?
I think we need answers to some questions. What percentage of Oxfam's money is raised in the UK? How much do they spend in the UK? Do they give assistance to UK citizens?
