A LOCAL charity is appealing for local running enthusiasts to take part in the Great North Run.
The annual half-marathon from Newcastle to South Shields takes place on Sunday, September 16 and Galloway's Society for the Blind is appealing for local people to join their team.
Sarah Hardiman, appeals manager, said: "Places are limited and are going fast so we would urge anyone who might be interested to get in touch as soon as possible.
The run is an ideal way to get fir and to raise money for our vital work with local blind people."
Anyone wanting to take part who can raise a minimum amount of sponsorship should contact Sarah on 01772 753706.
