PARENTS in the Torrisholme area are being asked to help police eradicate juvenile nuisance in the area.
Up to 40 youths are said to be congregating in the area outside the Spar shop and George pub and police are dealing with numerous complaints, ranging from criminal behaviour to abuse, drunkenness and intimidation.
Officers say they understand the problems caused by a lack of facilities locally, but intend to take action.
They will visit local off licences to enforce the laws on alcohol sales and appropriate schools.
They also hope to refer the situation to youth outreach workers.
Names and addresses of children will be taken and letters sent to parent and guardians informing them of the situation, but parents are being asked to find out where their children spend the evening.
Anyone wanting information or advice on the situation is asked to contact PC Jackie Wenn, community beat manager at Morecambe Police on 01524 63333.
Anyone with information on the unlawful sale of alcohol is also asked to contact police.
