LEIGH'S veteran bowler Albert Prescott performed a smash and grab at Pennington Park on Sunday.
It was Albert's first time in the competition and he was lucky to claim the last place of a full house. Not satisfied with
that he went on to play as though he had never been off the green, winning all but one of his group games and then beating both Leigh B.C. players McCaul and Berry in the semi-final and final.
Results: Main semi-final: Prescott 21-16 McCaul and Berry 21-20 Jim Noon. Final: Prescott 21-19 Berry.
Consolation semi-finals: Derek Seddon 21-20 Ann Crank and John Prestwich 21-12 Willie Harrison. Final Seddon 21-12 Prestwich.
All players are reminded to be early for the rest of the winter as full houses are anticipated.
