THE Golden Years Club has received £100 in Co-op gift vouchers to help fund its activities.
The Higher Folds-based over 50s group has been rewarded with the donation by Co-operative Group's North West Counties members' area committee, who are keen to support grass roots community projects.
The money, which was presented at the Leigh estate's store, will go towards the group's activities which include social events, day trips and meetings with various guest speakers.
Committee member Eric Stitt said: "We are delighted we can support such a worthwhile organisation. As a co-operative, one of our principles is concern for the community. Even small donations can make a difference to local groups in the communities where we trade."
