A PART of Bickershaw's new woodland will reflect the creativity and hard work of primary pupils.
Children from Bickershaw Primary School planted their own patch of forest for the new Community Woodland.
Forestry Commission rangers and volunteers were helped by 36 pupils, to plant a half-hectare site with oak, ash, birch and alder saplings.
The area is part of a 70 acre site which is being transformed into an attractive new community woodland for local people to enjoy.
Formerly part of Barlow's Farm, the land has been leased from the Woodland Trust by the Forestry Commission and will form part of the Red Rose Forest.
Already a wildlife sanctuary, the land will eventually be a mixture of open wetland features, woodland areas, wildflower meadows and footpaths when completed.
