TUESDAY night's watery postponement of Radcliffe Boro's home clash against Kendal Town was a double edged blow for Kevin Glendon.
Not only did the Boro manager want his side to get back on a lengthy winning trail after some disappointing results but he was keen for influential wing back Battersby to serve the final game of his suspension.
Battersby earned a three match ban as a result of his sending off at the end of Boro's 0-0 home draw with North Ferriby in mid January.
"We could really have done with Richard getting his ban out of the way on Tuesday," said Glendon.
"He'll take it into Saturday's game at Trafford now, which is sure to be a tough game.
"There's always plenty of local rivalry against them and you never know just what to expect.
"They can see off top teams then lose against some of the side's you'd expect them to beat, either way it won't be a repeat of the 6-1 win we had against them at Stainton Park earlier in the season."
The Boro boss is likely to stick with the Jodie Banim and Lee Kissock partnership up front but is hoping his strikers get back to the kind of scoring form that they were in on that night in September .
"Our overall play is okay but we are struggling to stick the ball away," he added.
"I don't think the stop-start season with postponements has done us any favours.
"We are creating chances but don't seem to have the cutting edge we need.
"But we've had to sell our leading scorers over the past few seasons so there's no point in moaning about the situation.
"You just have to put up with it until you find someone else although Ian Lunt has done us a favour in recent weeks."
Take away the 2-0 victory at Witton Albion at the beginning of the month and Boro haven't picked up three points since Kissock and Scott Wilson were on target in a 2-1 home win against Eastwood Town.
"Saturday's game is one we should really be looking to win," added Glendon.
"We've been giving these team too many opportunities to catch us up and it's got to stop."
Kick-off at Shawe View ground is 3pm.
