BRISTOL City boss Danny Wilson is believed to be considering whether to make a move to take Rovers' Northern Ireland international midfielder Damien Johnson on loan until the end of the season.
Johnson is one of a number of options being looked at by the Ashton Gate club as they chase promotion from the second division.
Wilson has been hit by an injury to midfielder Scott Murray and having missed out on the final of the LDV Vans Trophy he is unlikely to have many funds available.
He is aware that Johnson has been told he will not be given a new contract in the summer.
Rovers' chief executive John Williams said today: "We don't know anything about any interest from Bristol City for the player."
