IT has been brought to my attention that Lancashire County Council are now proposing to close some 35 out of 40 nursing homes in the area, and six out of seven are in the area which I reside and to which, have been paying over the odds in council tax for a number of years.
How one earth can it be, that we are paying so much more now, above the rate of inflation year on year, for such a diminishing service?
In the past 10 years, the house in which my family live, has risen from approximately £300 per year to £1,000 per year in council tax, yet all I see is a decline in all services. No other industry has seen an increase in percentage has this has, or without a doubt, it would have gone bust and would have been called a rip-off, profit grabbing company!
How can this be? During this time all other companies have slimmed down their work forces due to technology and the ever increasing development of computing, yet we are hit with over the odds increases for a failing system.
I would love to look at the books in full and study where we are going wrong!
Councillors beware, you age day by day!
A very disgruntled resident.
