A JURY in an alleged car-jacking case has been sent out to consider its verdict by a judge.
Bolton Crown Court heard that a woman had her car stolen outside Iceland supermarket in Leigh by a man who threatened to shoot her.
Patricia Sutton was putting her shopping into her V-reg BMW when Darren Edwards allegedly approached her. He demanded her car, pretending he had a gun in his pocket, and then stole the vehicle.
As he drove off, Edwards appeared to deliberately ram another vehicle twice, injuring the driver, Brian Marshall.
Edwards, aged 26, of Clarence Street, Atherton, appeared at Bolton Crown Court on the second day of his trial.
He is charged with affray and aggravated vehicle taking on May 25 last year. He denied both charges.
Police spotted the stolen car in the car park of Bongs Tavern in Tyldesley. They went into the pub and arrested Edwards after a struggle.
