GREATER Manchester Waste wants young artists in Bury to design a logo which can be applied to promotional materials, vehicles and other equipment.
The competition, open to youngsters in three age groups, is to promote recycling and environmental conservation in the North West.
There have already been a number of kerbside recycling schemes operating in the region and the aim is to raise the profile of environmental issues.
The individual age group winners of the competition will be presented with a computer package for themselves or their school class.
In addition, the overall winner will get music vouchers to the value of £200. Greater Manchester Waste Ltd managing director Stephen Jenkinson said: "Encouraging this kind of initiative is extremely important."
