FOUR-TIMES World Superbike champion Carl Fogarty reckons the cynics are wrong - this is going to be great season for Rovers.
The critics would say Rovers are heading for defeat in their first major cup final for 42 years, and then heading for relegation from the Premiership.
But 'Foggy' has other ideas. He is sure Rovers will beat Tottenham at the Millennium Stadium on Sunday and know they have the quality in their side to beat the drop.
"I have my own theories about games and for this one Tottenham are still in the FA Cup, not doing too well in the league and it will give Rovers confidence," said Foggy, who is currently in the process of putting together his own race team, Foggy Racing Petronas.
"And I can't believe they will go down. I was down at Brockhall this week speaking to a couple of the players and they are confident they're going to stay up.
"They have been unlucky over the past few weeks and you need to look at the whole year so that these things can level themselves out."
Foggy, a regular at Ewood Park, will be travelling to Cardiff this weekend.
"I am looking forward to it. It will be the first time I have been to see Rovers in a cup final like a lot of people and I am confident we will win.
"I have been to the Millennium Stadium before for the British Grand Prix Speedway race last year, commentating for Sky.
"It's a great place and it was a great atmosphere and there were 40,000 there. I think there will be more like 70,000 there on Sunday.
"There are a few of us going down and let's hope they bring the trophy back.
"It would be great to win it, to win anything.
"I think a lot depends on my man Dunny. When he's on form, when he starts running at people and striking the ball from 20 yards, he is amazing.
"I get the feeling the rest of the team play so much better when he's playing. They come to life when he is on the pitch."
And despite Dunn's absence from the side in recent weeks, Foggy is sure he will play.
"I spoke to Dunny this week and I got the feeling Souness left him out of the Middlesbrough game to save him for this week.
"He's definitely got to play, he's the star player in my opinion. He has a big future ahead of him. He is Blackburn's next superstar. He might end up as good as me!"
Rovers have lost 10 of the last 12 Premiership games, but they have to put that form behind them on Sunday.
"I think Rovers will win 2-1. They're a good side, playing well. They've just been unlucky recently.
"Tottenham are still in the FA Cup and that will be a distraction to them.
"They will be more concerned about that than the Worthington Cup."
Foggy is sure Rovers will win on Sunday, but knows they will then have to start concentrating on their league form.
"It will be great for a day or two but then reality will set in and we'd throw the cup in a skip if it means staying in the Premiership. If we win on Sunday and stay up it will have been a fantastic season."
