POLICE in Colne are appealing for information about a thief they believe was armed with a kitchen knife when he burgled a house in Fothergill Street.
A back window was smashed between 1pm and 4.45pm on Tuesday and property worth £2,000 was stolen from the front and back living rooms, including a Sony Play Station, Sony DVD player, an Hitachi video recorder and a watch.
DC Dean Holden, of Colne CID, said: "We are just a bit concerned about this because a knife was taken from the kitchen and was left by the exit.
"It looks like he armed himself with the knife while he was stealing the property in case he was confronted and then left it behind as he left."
Anyone with information about the incident should contact Colne CID on 01282 472445.
