AN artistic aura is drifting through the classrooms of a Leigh school.
Artist Margaret Jackson has been working with seven year olds in Y2 at the XII Apostles RC School on a peace and harmony theme.
Margaret has also helped 11 year old Y6 students brush up their painting skills.
The work is part of the 2002 Leigh Education Action Zone Arts and Writing project, which will culminate with a major exhibition in the Derby Rooms at Leigh Library in June.
EAZ literacy advisory teacher Michelle Silcock said the project should help students raise attainment in writing.
She added: "It also provides our young people with exhilarating teaching and learning experiences."
Under the project, textile artist Sarah Lancaster is due to spend a week in March with Y5 youngsters at Bedford Hall Methodist School.
Seven other schools are also involved including St Paul's (Westleigh) and Leigh CE Junior.
