WE'RE up for the cup - that was the clear message from the Rovers camp as they set off to take on Spurs in tomorrow's Worthington Cup final this morning.
Defender Henning Berg is determined to celebrate Rovers first Cup win since 1928 and rewrite the Ewood record books.
"I used to watch the English cup finals in Norway and I always thought how great it would be to play in one and now I have my chance," said the Norwegian international.
Berg was part of the all-conquering United treble-winning squad in 1999 but missed both the FA Cup final and the Champions League decider due to injury.
It left Berg with mixed feelings of pride and frustration, but now at last he will have a chance to contest a cup final at an English club.
"I have played in a Cup final in Norway, we lost 3-2 against Rosenburg and Stig Inge Bjornebye scored a last minute goal, that was in 1992. Now we are all looking forward to it."
Martin Taylor could get his chance in the absence of Craig Short who joins midfielders Tugay and Garry Flitcroft on the sidelines through suspension.
"The Millennium Stadium itself is a brilliant place to play and it's matches like this you always dreamed of playing in as a kid.
"Everyone will be watching, there's a trophy at stake so this is what it's all about."
David Dunn could start in midfield and could line up alongside Mark Hughes due to the two suspensions.
"It is a one-off and we have got to make the most of it," said England under 21 star Dunn. "We owe to both ourselves and our fans to put on a show."
Hughes may be employed as an experimental midfielder to give the centre some added steel, with Matt Jansen and Andy Cole operating up front.
Striker Cole is expected to recover from his stomach bug in time for tomorrow's clash.
Bjornebye should recover from flu, while Spanish striker Yordi, signed on loan from Real Zaragoza this week, will make his debut at some stage.

Tottenham appear to have avoided a defensive injury crisis after Anthony Gardner and Goran Bunjevcevic returned to action for the reserves.
Gardner had been out for a month with a knee injury and Bunjevcevic for 10 weeks with thigh and knee trouble but both played the full 90 minutes in the 1-0 win at Coventry.
Darren Anderton and Ledley King are xpected to be fit for Spurs after they missed last weekend's FA Cup fifth round victory over Tranmere with a hamstring injury and tonsilitis respectively, while Ben Thatcher is fit after picking up a knock against Tranmere, although he is likely to be on the bench, but striker Sergei Rebrov has not trained all week because of an Achilles problem. Dean Richards is cup-tied.
