POLICE arrested only five people on the day - and praised Rovers and Spurs fans for their good nature.

Three men from the Blackburn area were arrested after another man from Blackburn complained he was assaulted.

A Blackburn man was taken into custody for a number of alleged public order offences.

And a Swansea man was arrested for being drunk and disorderly.

None of them have yet been charged.

Chief Superintendent Jeff Cooksley, Cardiff Divisional Commander for South Wales Police said: "There were a small number of arrests on the day. As a whole the event and police operation were very successful.

"There was a terrific carnival atmosphere around the city. There was some very good-natured banter between both sets of fans."
