THE Academy sides had mixed results over the weekend with the Under 19s getting only a point but the Under 17s claiming all three.
The Under 19s drew 1-1 at home against Wrexham. Andy Bell put Rovers ahead but the side squandered numerous chances to score more goals before Wrexham eventually equalised.
"We had four seasos in 90 minutes," said coach Ian Miller.
"There was sunshine, rain, hail and strong winds but we should have won the game."
The Under 17s fared better, beating the North Wales side 5-2.
Paul Gallagher got two, Mark Marsden and Phil Howard got one each and Jerome Watt scored with an excellent individual effort.
Both sides travel to Bolton on Saturday in Academy matches that mirror the first team's trip to the Reebok Stadium for the crucial relegation six-pointer.
