REGARDING Lord Square in Blackburn, how about doing away with the old lift tower and stairs to the nightclub -- the lift has not been used in a long time -- and also that ridiculous pedestrian ramp which hides all the shop fronts on that side of the square?
To replace this, an escalator could be installed in the corner next to WH Smiths to facilitate the passage of people from the Stoneybutts shopping level to Lord Square level.
This would open up the square in quite a dramatic way.
And let us not forget that Grosvenor Way, off Church Street (in the old days the end of Victoria Street), was the main entrance to the old market square area.
