Stalybridge Celtic0 Leigh RMI 1 BY Martyn Hindley
LEIGH RMI have turned their fortunes upside down with four league wins in fives games.
Last night's 1-0 victory at Stalybridge Celtic moved Steve Waywell's men up to 15th, just six weeks after the club was fearing a relegation fate.
RMI ended Stalybridge's five-game winning streak with one expert piece of football in the 66th minute when Dave German found substitute Marcus Hallows and his assist allowed Michael Twiss time to pull the trigger and beat Leigh Walker from 15 yards.
The Conference side is now just 13 points short of its predicted yardstick of safety with 13 games to go and has stolen a major psychological advantage over their relegation rivals ahead of next week's Hilton Park meeting.
