YOU may solve the murder mystery being staged by Tyldesley Little Theatre later this month -- but members hope you will be laughing too much to even care.

The play is Secondary Cause of Death by Peter Gordon, and is the sequel to Murdered to Death, the sparkling comedy thriller that was a huge hit for TLT in May 1995.

And it will feature Frank Bowdler once again as the hapless Inspector Pratt.

A spokesman said: "The twists and turns and cases of mistaken identity that make up the plot of this latest production will keep the most demanding of mystery fans happy, while the slapstick humour of the bumbling Inspector Pratt will have audiences rolling in the aisles.

"The character is a delightful combination of British Inspector Clouseau and the tongue tied undercover policeman from television's Allo Allo."

The play will be directed by Mike Rimmer, and will also include cast members Denis Beardsworth, Garth Waddup, Winnie Beatty and Karen Morris. Margaret Speakes, Hazel Rimmer and Kaye Taylor all make an immediate return to the stage following their success with the theatre's last production, Bazaar and Rummage.

Secondary Cause of Death runs from March 19 to 23. Tickets are from 01204 655619 or 01942 886908.
