SUNDERLAND fan Phil Hamilton was forced to adopt Blackburn's blue and white colours when supermarket staff threatened him with blancmange.
Phil, manager of Blackburn's Asda supermarket in Grimshaw Park, was forced to wear a Rovers shirt for the day as part of the store's Worthington Cup victory celebrations.
He promised to wear the kit despite being a season ticket holder at Sunderland.
Staff threatened him with a bath of blue and white blancmange if he changed from the Rovers shirt at any point during the day.
He said: "I couldn't ever swap my team allegiance but I am really happy for the team and the club. Wearing the shirt has made the staff and customers happy, so I am happy."
Around 20 staff members at the store wore Blackburn Rovers shirts as part of a celebration day following Sunday's victory.
Event co-ordinator Carol Davis said: "We are all so delighted they won.
"I know the atmosphere in the stadium must have been absolutely electric and we are just taking the chance to enjoy success."
Phil said: "The club has always enjoyed real support from the fans and I think it is because they are so central to town and that the fans are so localised. They will have to be my second team from now on."
