THE recent cutting of shrubs etc at the entrance to Bold Venture Park in Darwen has proved to be a revelation.

A new vista has emerged showing the park off to much greater advantage. I hope the council are going to extend the treatment much further.

I know the idea is to lessen teenage nuisance, which I think it will. It will also be very cost-effective by reducing a great deal of maintenance and the chippings are being put to very good use.

Rhododendrons are a blight on the land and very costly to keep under control. The railings on Manor Road are long overdue for removal. A great deal of money was spent on them last year and yet they still look tatty, serving no useful purpose.
