WELL, it's time to put pen to paper again, and yes the local leagues have been unable to play because of our wonderful northern weather.
So, since the last time I wrote my article England have travelled across the water to play the wonderful footballing Dutch side.
Before the game things didn't look too good with Michael Owen being out plus Seaman, Bowyer, Dyer and others, but by the end of the game we had given the Dutch a lesson on their own soil. We only ended up with a draw but found out that Vassell and Ricketts even though the latter only got half a game, are in contention for the World Cup squads.
Then after the game I watched the highlights on BBC1 with Alan Hansen and Peter Reid and all they could go on about was how wonderful Patrick Kluivert was. Excuse me I only saw him involved in the game twice and the goal he got was going wide anyway.
Why can we not sing our praises of our own players instead of saying how good the Dutch were. Thank goodness they are not going to the World Cup because we might have ended up getting no coverage.
Anyway, I've just watched Rovers win the Littlewoods, Milk, Worthington Cup thing and I must say well done and from a Clarets that sticks in the throat a bit.
Anyway good news, Burnley have started winning again and Rovers are cementing themselves back to play us again next year.
See you at Ewood again soon.
