I have just picked myself up off the floor, as I fell over laughing at Mr Short's report on Man City v PNE.
I assume he actually went to the game? Is his eyesight the same as his name?
Inferring that Preston actually deserved a point, if not all three! He mustn't have seen much after the first 20 minutes. I'm not just a biased City supporter either, I have discussed the match with several "real" Northenders (season ticket holders), who all said that Preston were well beaten, one said "out of their depth".
After a good start by Preston, in a very even first 20 minutes, City dominated the game. Preston only managed a good second goal after the City lads had been a bit stupid tapping it round for ten minutes or so.
Don't you think it's about time your reporters reported facts rather than biased fiction, as I would say the majority of your readers don't support the local teams anyway.
Still laughing out loud, City Till I Die!

Allisatir Short replies:
I do feel compelled to write with the thought that it will be PNE fans reading it, but as they say "I stand by what I wrote".
I was reporting what David Moyes and Kevin Keegan had said and I suppose I am in a more privileged position than most to hear what is said in the press conferences by the managers after the game.
Interestingly I was asked in the pub in London over the weekend why I don't praise the team enough in my reports so I don't suppose I can't win either way. If what I write sparks a debate then I have no problem with that.
