ONE of the Ribble Valley's premier tourist attractions, Ribchester Museum, has started a new chapter in its history with the help of Antiques Roadshow star and Bonhams director Eric Knowles.

He opened the improved facilities at the museum, which are the result of funding from a range of organisations including the Lancashire Tourism Partnership.

Patrick Tostevin from the museum said: "The museum has been at the heart of Ribchester's community for many years and the improvements we have made will ensure it continues to be a great asset to the village."

A Lancashire Tourism Partnership spokesman said: "The Ribchester Museum is a prime example of how LTP money is being used to help create excellent facilities for visitors.

"Lancashire's tourist economy depends on having top quality attractions like this museum to maintain its place amongst this country's best."
