A CLUB for young movie buffs this week celebrates its first birthday.
The Grand Cinema at Clitheroe set up the "Flicks Club" to encourage children to enjoy cinema.
It combines viewing new and old films with creative workshops.
An hour before viewing the film youngsters can indulge in anything from games and music to arts and crafts with the chance to win prizes at the end.
Professional artists such as circus performers have also organised some of the activities.
Blockbusters like Lord of the Rings and Monsters Inc have boosted the club's popularity.
The club celebrates its first year with a disco, party games for prizes and a birthday cake for its members at 10am on Saturday.
Revellers will then be treated to a screening of Just Visiting, a new children's film, at 11am.
Children aged eight and over are welcome to join the club.
They need to bring a passport photo and £1 which will be exchanged for a membership card and a free bag of popcorn to accompany the film.
Members can then book a place on any of the club's Saturday morning workshops for the price of £3.50, which includes a film package.
