ABRACADABRA! The Golden Jubilee of the Blackpool Magician's Club convention at the Winter Gardens was pure magic.
The three-day event last weekend (February 22-24), marking the club's 50th annual convention, involved the 17th British Magical Stage Championships at the Opera House and the Magician's Club's yearly command performance of international talent.
Winner of the British Magical Grand Prix Champion 2002 trophy was illusionist David Penn from Northampton.
Swiss illusionist Peter Marvey took the Magician of the Year 2002 Merlin Award.
The Blackpool Magician's Club's annual show was compered by Mick Miller and also featured Ken Dodd, who is the club's honorary life president.
Blackpool Magician's Club spokesman Ian Ogilvy said: "It was the biggest convention the world has ever seen."
