A NEW band is ripe for success thanks to the input of a Leigh promoter.
Rock country fusion band The Cherrypickers have linked up with Dave Horrocks of the Twist Lane-based Delotron/D H Promotions.
He is working with the independent record label Clever Bird Records and the London-based publishing company Flowsound to promote the Lancashire artists.
They release their debut single Kings of the Reeperbahn this month and their second album is expected to follow in summer.
The Cherrypickers are made up of Emma Crane (vocals), Alan Olive (guitars and keyboards), Jon Browne (lead guitar), James Bentley (bass and keyboards) and Ben Suthers (drums and percussion).
They formed in 2000 and have developed an infectious style that is different and commercially appealing. With a strong following throughout the North West and have wooed audiences from the indie club scene to mainstream clubgoers. They have also played venues in London.
Their first album Take Today was released last July.
They are now embarking on their most ambitious project, headlining a benefit gig at Blackpool's Winter Gardens for the Macmillan Windmill Trust on Saturday, April 6. Check the website www.cherry-pickers.net.
